Ryan and Dave

Ryan and Dave teamed up in 2003 to explore how the liquor cabinet could be used as an extension of the spice rack. Driven by their passion for simple food—and their love of fine spirits, wine and beer—their efforts culminated in 2006 with the publication of Cooking with Booze. The critically acclaimed title quickly became a Canadian bestseller and has since been reprinted internationally.

In 2007, Ryan and Dave launched www.cookingwithbooze.com—an online resource for all things food and booze related—and set out to write their second book, another booze and food guide due to launch in autumn 2008.

Recently they’ve teamed up with Quebec-based food manufacturer, Lassonde Specialties Inc. to promote their line of fondue broths and gourmet barbecue sauces.

Ryan and Dave also write for several high-profile publications including Food & Drink and Canadian Living.

Combined, the duo have over a half-century of cooking and drinking experience.

Ryan Jennings is a freelance writer and food stylist based in Toronto. His work has appeared in magazines such as Toronto Life, ELLE Canada and glow, while other clients include Air Canada, Kraft and President’s Choice. He enjoys lazy weekends, baking cakes and mixing cocktails.
David Steele
David Steele
David Steele, a professionally trained events producer has staged numerous events and celebrations including national gala award shows in Halifax and Toronto. He has also worked to develop and manage Oakham House, a historic events facility in downtown Toronto and currently works as a Marketing Director.
